the vision of lintang project

Pantai Balangan in Uluwatu Bali, my surf homespot turning into a trash beach especially during rainy season

the story behind lintang project

I don't even really know who to thank for - my mom always sewing her clothes by herself and giving me this passion for fashion and understanding for clothes and materials or my friends getting into embroidery or my traveling... I guess all of these inspo people and seeing so many different cultures and countries made me create this thing here.

what is lintang project

Basically the name is a mix of "Lisa" and "Bintang" translated from Bahasa Indonesia, the official Indonesian language, being "star". "Star" because it all kind of started with stars on my shirts. The first lintang project shirt was a birthday gift for my close friend Lea and from that moment on every piece I created had stars on it. Why Bahasa Indonesia? I spent my last two years in this beautiful country and feel like it helped me a lot to just flow with my won creativity and trust the whole process. The Indo lifestyle taught me, just flow and don't overthink it too much!!!

the message

Upcycling cause what the hell are we doing to our lovely beautiful sacred Mother Earth? Here some facts: every ear 100-150 billions of clothes are being produced, every second a whole truck of clothes is being thrown away... fast fashion and consumerism growing and with this it's consequences: child labour, people working in inhuman conditions, our global warming and climate change being more empowered by fast fashion consume... our earth is so precious and we continue to destroy it. Especially while traveling I realized how big climate change already influences our everyday lives, just that again the poorest are affected the most. We need to stop consumerism. We need to fight for our beautiful nature and human equality. We don't need new clothes, there are already so many on our planet!!!!
